Artist Statement
As a dancer, choreographer, teacher, and advocate, I push against narrow ideas of ability, and instead allow lived experience to shape the energy of my work. Drawing from my experience with a life-altering injury and how one moment in time can shape the rest of our lives. I believe that dancers deserve not only a space to dance, but a home to find peace in where they are accepted as they are, not who they ought to be. I find joy in the empowering of others and find value in honesty over perfection. It is my conviction that dance can be transformative when it is planted in genuine connection and allowed to bloom through relationships.
