Teaching Statement
As an educator, I believe that dancers are more than just artists. We are athletes, creators, dreamers, and, most importantly, human. I approach the classroom as a place where students can find escape and grow their passion, rather than a place to push them into uniformity. I want my students to understand that they do not have to look like everyone else in order to be considered “talented”.
It is my hope that my students learn to value what makes them special and embrace it instead of hiding it in the shadows. When teaching, I prioritize progress over perfection and strive to empower my students to move in a way that feels authentic to them. I create classrooms that celebrate individuality and encourage the students to find joy in movements that feel true to them.
Ultimately, my goal as an educator is to support my dancers not only as performers, but as human beings, encouraging them to chase after their dreams and never letting anyone define who they can and can’t be.
